What is the best way to win money on horses and poker?

Category: horse racing strategies – Author: admin – 9:13 am

I know that this is a nutty question but since all the alleged corruption in horse racing I really would likie a sensible answer. Also in poker are there such things as strategy or is it a lucky game?
well, in poker it’s mostly about outplaying your opponents – knowing their tells, and not having any of your own, knowing how much to push them, when to bluff, etc. It’s all about reading people. as for horses – don’t know about that. go for an underdog, and hope you win. Of course, as they say, the best way to win at gambling is not to play at all.

Why is a wad of cotton placed up a racing thoroughbred’s rearend before racetime?

Category: horse racing strategies – Author: admin – 9:18 am

I was at the preakness last year and noticed in the paddock most of the horses that were walking to their starting places had large wads placed up there. I am wondering if its a racing strategy, or its done to keep them looking clean and neat?
Might have something to do with a drug test. It is illegal to drug a horse, to enhance performance.. It might also be to detect any tampering that might have been done to the horse to make it loose the race. Which might only be detected through testing of the horse dropping. I really don’t know for sure, the above is only a guess.

is strategy(by purina) a good feed for an x race horse? if not what is?

Category: betting strategies, horse racing strategies – Author: admin – 8:22 am

i am feeding my x racehorse strategy, and im not sure if that is the right feed for him i am feeding my ex racehorse strategy, and im not sure if its right for him. we just got him and he is pretty skinny and is ridden like once a week.we want him to gain weight, but some people are telling us that staregy has to much protein. in the summer i will start training him for barrelracing, and he will be getting riden almost every day, will stategey still be right for him then?
I think that would be ok, but I would also put him on joint supplements also for his legs. Ask your horse vet.

Horse race betting question?

Category: betting strategies, horse racing strategies – Author: admin – 8:22 am

Where and how should I bet on horse racing? Also advice on betting strategy?
You should go to races and bet there at betting booths. The types of betting are usually described in the horse race brochure of that particular race. The simplest way of betting is to bet that your horse will come first (“win”), first or second (“place”), or first, second or third (“show”). There are more complicated types of betting (like trifecta) which have low odds of success and may be difficult for a beginner. As for strategy, if you don’t know anything about horses and cannot pick the best by just looking at them (few can!), you should look at the odds ratio displayed by the name of a horse before the race. The lowest odds (say, 20:1) means that the horse is unlikely to win, but if it does, your winnings will be the greatest. Vice versa, if odds are high (like 2:1), it means that the horse is very likely to win, but your winnings will be low. So the best and simplest strategy is to pick a horse somewhere in the middle (say 10:1): in this case, there is a good chance it can win and bring you decent winnings.

horse racing?

Category: betting strategies, horse racing strategies – Author: admin – 8:29 am

Between the jockey and the trainer, who decides what to do, when and how? Does the trainer train and jockey will ride it and make all dicisions? So, how he knows what strategy to use? Please let me know if you answering based on opinion or you knw it for fact. Horse racing betting systems for free!!
First, there is the actual owner of the horse who decides where the horse will be trained & for what purpose. Not all race horses are trained with the idea that they will become a winner. Some are simply a tax write offs or an investment to “conceal funds”. A horse trainer used to be a horseman. Meaning that they knew ALL aspects pertaining to the horse, including breeding. Sadly, today there are very few true horsemen in the Horseracing Industry. Anyway, once the owner decides on a STABLE (trainer), the horse is placed into daily training to get them ready to race. This is a 24/7 regimin that the horse is placed on from the day they walk off the trailer & into the barn. It includes training just like an athelete & a diet to match. The horse is ultimately the responsibility of the trainer, who also employs an assistant trainer. The horse starts it’s day at apx 4:00am, when the groom arrives to the barn to start the routine that will include walking for one hour, either by hand or by machine, or being ridden on the training track OR the main track by the EXERCISE RIDER. Many barns emply their own riders, but most just use whoever they can get on a moments notice, because trainers often do not pay the riders until they are forced to. Many exercise riders are the Pony Riders who accompany the horses to the starting gate. Many are also licensed Jockeys who will exercise horses they are planning to ride in an upcoming race. The exercise rider have more weight on them (120-150)& this is sometimes good when training your horse, as the jockey is usually only 100 lbs. It is the same for a horse that is is for a human athelete in regards to using weights to build muscle & strength. The trainer is usually at the mercy of the assistant trainer & they are at the mercy of the exercise rider who is at the mercy of the groom, who is usually struggling to keep everyone happy & find someone to walk their horses properly & hold them steady for their baths & vet exams. Everyone must COMMUNICATE any & all concerns & problems regarding the horse in every aspect of their lives from the smell of their poop down to the sparkle (or lack of) in their eyes. It takes approximately 2 years to ready a horse properly for their first race. A lot of trainers can do this in one year, but many choose to do it in 3 to 6 months in order to avoid losing money from the owner pulling the horse out from their stable & into another trainers stable. Unfortunately, when this happens all the work that has been done by all the people in the last stable comes to a halt. The new trainer does not use any of the same people (rarely), and the horse must learn to adapt to their new surroundings & unfamiliar people who treat them in a new way. Each barn feeds differently, employs different types of people, has different equipment, different vets, & different rules regarding the people who have had contact with the horse in the past. A horse forms a bond with their caregivers which is not easily broken & many trainers fear this, so they do not allow continued contact. Ultimately, it is the horse who makes the final decision in almost everything due to their size advantage. It is the humans who decide on how to deal with each animal on an individual basis, according to the needs & demands of both the owner & trainer. Everyone else is there to make sure the horse doesn’t get hurt or neglected. Unfortunately, some people will do anything for money, power or revenge & this is when it gets ugly & everyone loses. Addition/Edit…I almost forgot the most important thing is that when a horse is entered in a race, they can only do so with a clean bill of health from the track vet. Many times a horse is scratched after the pre-race exam. It is MY opinion that tighter standards are needed in this area due to the MANY injuries & deaths of both horse & rider. If they paid as much attention to the horse as they do to the Jockey, I believe there would be far less injured animals! Also, I really didn’t say too much about the hotwalkers. For some reason they get left out of the equation, but without them, the groom wouldn’t be able to handle 5-6 horses daily, especially on race day! The hotwalker is often seen in the paddock area carrying the water pail & other equipment the groom will need when the trainer requests it prior to the race. After the race, the hotwalker & groom tend to the 2 hour job of “cooling down” the horse, which is the hardest & most difficult time to both animal & human handlers! It is also quite rewarding, even when they don’t win!

What is your strategy when picking a horse to win the race? What do you look for in the program?

Category: betting strategies, horse racing strategies – Author: admin – 8:27 am

What is it that you look for in the program book that makes you think he will win horse racing betting strategies? Do you look for best time, move up/down in class, added equipment…….what do you see that works the best or what combination of things do you look for. Also does anyone know a good website for tips?
I look at this factors, in something like this order: Class–a horse that has run in better races will have an edge over those who have faced lesser fields. Speed–which horses are the fastest? Pace–does the horse front run or can it come from off the pace? Distance–which horses have the best record at this or similar distance? Surface–how do the runners handle turf/dirt/polytrack/wet as may apply to the race? Trainer–horses from good barns are prefered over inconsistent ones. Jockey–I want a rider that knows what they are doing in the saddle. Pedigree–especially for younger horses, what type of success has the animal’s siblings had? When these things all converge, that’s what I like to bet.
